Pierre Perrenoud, ASUL President | | RESULTS OF THE SWISS CHAMPIONSHIP 1997 | | Patrick Watermann, '95 and '96 Swiss Champion |
The Swiss Championship was held on May 30 and June 1st on the La Vrine landing, a few kilometers off Pontarlier (France), following the ASUL (Swiss Ultralight Association) rules. Remember that Switzerland is the only European country still forbidding ultralights on its territory.
Although the wind was somewhat strong on Saturday, the 28 competitors all completed the navigations runs. |

Briefing | Helen Robatel takes off |
The precision landings runs of Sunday were first postponed due to heavy rain, then cancelled due to the accident of one competitor.
Therefore, the Jury decided not to give any Swiss Champions title this year.
Our best wishes for a prompt recovery are going to our two unfortunate friends. |
