MAGNI'S DAY 98

Should you believe that Italy is limited to pizzas and football, you probably did not attend the '98 Magni's Day. While we scarcely report on events held by a single manufacturer, we believe that the ever growing interest about gyros in Europe request that we talk about that one: seen under the aspect of number of gyros, this is the 2nd international gyro event in Europe.

Don't forget the '99 edition:

Vittorio Magni is a well known person in the European autogyro trade, and someone who acquired large knowledges in all rotorcrafts areas since 1962.

He is as well one of the the very few manufacturers in Europe to offer a complete rage of autogyros, from trainers to travel crafts, single and two-seaters. His gyros were a number of times crowned by various distinctions for the quality of the manufacturing and their performances.

Vittorio is helped by his two sons, Luca and Pietro, and as well by his daughter in law Lisa, who is as well member of the Pink Lady Gyro Club - the only known all women gyro club - showing with her feminine friends that flying is not only a man's hobby.

During Magni's Day, severall aircrafts are reserved for tests and maiden flights, allowing visitors to get a nice first contact with this ever growing flight discipline.

A good twenty local gyros, as well as three helicopters were present, plus 28 gyros coming from Austria, Germany, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Portugal, Poland and Switzerland. The variety of rotorcrafts, as well as their number, make of this event the second gyro meeting in Europe. This is hence an interesting meeting point and place to exchange informations at the end of the flight season.

Magni's Day is as well a technical forum - generally after the flying hours, and the place where the new italian regulations as well as the certification of teachers are prepared.

As usual, all participants meet on the saturday evening for a common meal, and we heard that a number of interesting funny stories are told about the time when Vittorio was a youngster, and started using gyros. Seems that at that time, no-one would believe and trust him.... Since then, he proved that professionalism and knowledges may turn into a success.
