MONTPEZAT 98

The traditional Montpezat's fly-in and exhibition, as usual with a very warm welcome, happened under a bright sun. The above airplane, although not an ultralight, attracted a lot of attention.

Don't forget the '99 edition::

MONTPEZAT 1999 - From July 3 to 4

This year with large second-hand market, and as well
an auction on Sunday morning. Don't miss it.

Information: Saint Exupéry

Ultralight landing: Saint Exupéry

1997 Report: Saint Exupéry 10th anniversary

While this edition of the Montpezat's fly-in and exhibition did not bring a lot of new ultralights, we noted B+F Technik's FK 9, a rather high-end ultralights, offering good performances that attract the market of GA pilots wishing to go into the ultralight category for maintenance costs reasons.

Even when the ultralight purists regret this slip towards high-end products, it is unavoidable and allows manufacturers to ensure their future. As the picture below show, basic and middle range ultralight have not disappeared, far from that. This is one of Montpezat's good points to bring in the show ultralights ranging from PPGs to high-end ultralights.

The always cordial Alain Mignet came with several Cordouan, on of which painted like the French Patrol airplanes... of course limiting its flight evolutions to ultralight possibilities.

Montpezat, Europe's largest ultralight landing, remains a priviledged place with a very friendly welcome. Don't miss taking part in the evening meals, that often go ahead to early mornings with countless discussions and stories.

The nice regional climate, as well at the excellent restaurants around warranty the visitor a very nice stay.
